Does your child often complain from physical activity such as running, jumping, squatting and kneeling?
Is there a swollen bump under your child’s knee-cap?
Despite these problems can your child still walk normally without any obvious limp or pain?
The onset of Knee Pain typically starts when your child is between 10 to 15 years old, which is considered a period of active growth. Overusing the knees or mild trauma towards the knee caps are said to be the cause of the condition.
Treating and preventing Knee Pain
At Bankstown Foot Clinic, we promote a state of rest for the child from physical activities in order for their knees to recover. Assessments will determine the severity of knee pain and suggestions of insoles and strapping may be encouraged.
